Event format:
Tekwani is essentially a one-day enduro course with multiple course rider levels to choose from (see further course info below).
Riders can choose to ride Saturday 3rd May or Sunday 4th May if unable to make the Saturday. Of course you can also ride both days if you’re keen to make a weekend of it, however, the routes are the same for both days. So if you are riding both days, it might be worth changing the route level to mix things up a bit.
Both Saturday and Sundays times are as follows:
Riders briefing: 8:50am
Staggered start: From 9am
Track close off for 2nd lap: 12pm
Lucky draw prize giving : 2:30/3pm (*Sat only)
Route / Course Options:
Family loop 》25kms of fully marked single track and forest roads. Very enjoyable and suitable for 65cc and up. Completely safe and nothing difficult – U12's to be accompanied by adults (one adult per small group allowed)
Bronze 》GPS required: Approx 40kms of weekend-warrior terrain – fire breaks, single track, roads and some fun stuff in the forests. There is nothing too difficult but some skill and experience is required. A refuel zone available for 65cc / 85cc – Please ensure extra fuel is in a well-marked container to load onto fuel trailer.
Silver 》GPS required: Approx 42kms of all the above plus a few extra challenging climbs and downhills. All doable, but requires a lot of bike skill, fitness and perseverance. Definitely a step up from weekend-warrior status. Not for intermediate or weekend warriors. Experienced riders only.
Gold 》GPS required: Approx 48kms of all the above plus four extra tough sections to separate the boys from the men. Only super skilled riders to tackle this loop. Silver riders keen to step it up to Gold will require a riding buddy to ensure they are home before the sun goes down.
* Should you or a riding friend not own a GPS, we will have GPS captains to guide you.
All in all, these are world class loops and we consider this 4th edition of the Tekwani Barkbuster to have the best course to date. It's an absolute privilege that we're allowed to experience these tracks – so don't miss out!
Thank you to Tekwani Properties for giving us permission to ride on their plantation.
Sign in: Once finished riding for the day, all riders are to report back to registration and sign next to their name as “rider back” and then you will receive your medal.
